VERY IMPORTANT

This ride is a rule of the road event. We will provide flaggers and traffic control to get all the riders out of town but once on course, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to watch for traffic and follow the rules of the road. These country roads are very desolate do not be lulled into the fact that you have not seen a car in an hour and you blow a stop sign or an intersection way out in the middle of nowhere. The exceptions to this rule are the two locations were Super Big Grind ride crosses Highway 97. For safety, we have two sets of flaggers. After crossing Highway 97 the first time please stay to the right and ride on the shoulder the entire time. The shoulders are wide and clean.

Timing

This ride is being chip-timed. Results will be posted to the website immediately. Use your smartphone to check and see how you did. Timing chips are on bands that must be worn around your ankle (you can choose which one). The timing mat and station for the finish are located 2 miles prior to the City of Dufur. Look for the lane of cones and signage. Make sure you roll over the timing mat so we can get your official time. You will also be given a bib number to wear on your right side.

Parking

Event parking is located at Barlow Field and Dufur School. The Start/Finish line and after-ride lunch are located 10 blocks south of the School at Dufur City Park. The park has restrooms with flushing toilets and sinks!

Getting ready to join us at the Gorge event?

Our pals at Dirty Freehub, who are going to join us at the Gorge event, have offered up some suggestions on additional routes that you can include on your visit to Dufur.  Dirty Freehub is a nonprofit that creates amazing gravel Ride Guides that help you to find cool places to ride and to learn about these places. Here's the map of their Ride Guides in Oregon; we hope you carve out extra days on your journey to enjoy some of them.  (Maupin, Tygh Valley and Dufur all have routes that are low enough to be snow free.). We also hope you support their great cause with adonation to their organization.
